Declaration of Patient Care

You can expect your health care to include:

  • An environment where you, your family and support system are treated with respect and compassion
  • A partnership with you, your family and support system with shared responsibility and accountability in supporting and achieving your health goals
  • An environment in which important information is shared with you, the team answers your questions and addresses your concerns
  • Accessible care that is free of prejudice, stigma and judgement

Visitor Code of Conduct

We ask visitors to:

  • Be polite and respect others
  • Wash your hands before a visit
  • Follow any isolation signs as posted on patient doors
  • Keep noise to a minimum. Try not to disturb others
  • Follow directions or requests from doctors or staff
  • Respect the property of others
  • Respect the privacy of others
  • Your children should be with you at all times

The following are NOT acceptable:

  • Rude or insulting comments
  • Any threat of violence
  • Theft
  • Smoking or vaping in the hospital or on the property
  • Visiting while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Staff of the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance reserve the right to take action if this policy is violated.

Emergency Department Closure

Wingham and District Hospital - Closed Saturday, July 20th, 2024

Please note that the Wingham District Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closed at the following times this weekend:

Saturday July 20th at 9:00pm to Sunday July 21st at 7:00am

Patients experiencing a medical emergency are advised to call 911.
We regret the need to take this step and are working diligently to return to normal operations. We thank the community for their understanding.

Listowel Parking Lot Closure

Due to some extra repairs required in the paid parking lot, The visitor parking lot at Listowel Memorial Hospital will be closed for repairs:

Monday, September 4th at 1500, to reopen late Tuesday, September 5th

Alternate parking is located behind the hospital.
