Inpatients

The physicians and staff of LWHA request that patients bring all current medications to the hospital for Emergency Room visits, preoperative clinics and planned admissions. To provide the best possible medication care the health care team must know about all medications taken. This includes drugs taken by prescription and medicines purchased over the counter. On occasion patients may have to supply their own medications such as birth control tablets, eye drops, nasal sprays, vitamins and herbal products.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Every time you come to the hospital please bring all of your medications with you. Bring your medications when you come to the hospital for an outpatient appointment with doctor or other healthcare professional; a visit to the emergency department; or a scheduled admission to the in-patient area.

Acute Care

Acute Care Services are offered at both the Listowel and Wingham sites and are located on the 2nd floor at each hospital site. An Interdisciplinary Team provides care for admitted patients (Listed below).

A chronic co-payment fee may be applicable in some situations such as a long term care placement or long term care required in hospital. This will be discussed with your healthcare team and hospital business office personnel.
